I enjoyed my playthrough of Glitchwalkers. It was a refreshing and unique experience with new challenges and new scenery.

A lot of the negative reviews are focused on the repetitive missions and generally reduced amount of content compared to the base game, but I think it helps to go into this with the right expectations. Whether or not the following is a pro or con is subjective:

Glitchwalkers is not an expansion for the base game, and they should have been more explicit about that in the product description. It's more like a separate game mode with a focused story and remixed progression using familiar base game items and mechanics. Your DLC save is independent from the vanilla save you use to unlock it. You start off with all of your research locked, and unlock it in tiers as you play through the story missions. In this new progression, you're forced to actually use things that experienced players would normally skip or only use briefly, such as small generators or the medium rover. Vanilla mid-game resources like lithium and titanium become accessible much later than usual in the DLC's progression, and resource trivializers like the soil centrifuge and trade platform are also locked until much later. Bytes are actually somewhat difficult to get since you can't just research a small shuttle and rush to Glacio to destroy the byte economy. These might all seem like downsides, and the pace does start out slow, but I found myself enjoying the experience of gradually unlocking familiar items at unfamiliar points in progression, and slowly upgrading my base and rover instead of skipping straight to S-tier items. Limited access to some items and resources made me put some legitimate thought and strategy into what I printed and what upgrades I was making between mission trips. Random wreckages I found were actually something to look forward to because I could find resources and items that I wouldn't otherwise be able to obtain until a while later. I got to apply my existing game knowledge to a new progression sequence, and it culminated with me constructing an overpowered large rover and satisfyingly bulldozing through the last bit of the story and beating the DLC.

Besides the progression, I enjoyed other aspects of the DLC. The new planet of Aeoluz is drastically larger than the vanilla planets and has some quite nice and varied biomes. The story was cute and simple, and builds off of the tidbits of lore the developers have been gradually introducing into the base game over the last couple years. Also, despite deliberately going out of my way to find new bugs and exploits, the new Glitchwalkers content was fairly solid and I didn't encounter any game-breaking issues that weren't entirely my own fault for trying to instigate them.

The DLC is not without its flaws, of course. The gameplay loop you go through to complete the missions gets a bit repetitive, though approaching the mission challenges with progressively superior equipment offsets some of this problem. The glitched storms are harsh to look at and it can be difficult to tell what you're doing once you get inside. Many of the biomes are quite hostile to rovers and foot traversal, and one of the early ones you'll encounter is exceptionally nasty, so be prepared to make a lot of bridges and tunnels. It's unclear when you unlock specific researches, so you'll need to scroll through the clunky research catalog UI after completing each mission milestone to see if you unlocked anything you wanted to use. You won't have access to the side missions for the galastropods and EVA, so you may find yourself missing those if you're used to having them in the base game.

Glitchwalkers is not going to be for everybody. You may not enjoy it if you're just expecting a content expansion on top of the base game. It may also be rough for newer players that haven't completed the base game. It's not an exceptionally long DLC and it won't have as much replay value as the base game, but my casual playthrough lasted for about 16 hours and I feel like I got my money's worth. That said, I would definitely recommend Glitchwalkers if you are a veteran player who is burnt out on the vanilla Astroneer experience and are looking for a unique twist on a familiar game.

Absolutely phenomenal game with beautiful visuals and music. It can be a challenging at times, but the platforming and combat system work so well together that playing it is a truly joyful experience. Dying didn't have the same frustration as other games; every hit gives you a split second to take in what you did wrong and correct your approach next time. Backtracking can be mitigated with a plethora of tools, and the levels are always designed with quiet atmospheric moments, sometimes with NPC conversations sprinkled along your path. The sound effects are punchy when they need to be, and fit the environment they're found in seamlessly.

I don't usually latch onto a game because of it's difficulty, but Hollow Knight delivers just enough to feel rewarding without being unapproachable. Understanding how your actions affect your momentum is the key to manoeuvring around environmental and enemy hazards. Speaking of enemies, the bosses are really fun to fight, having clearly telegraphed attacks with audio/visual cues and discernible patterns.

Great game, great community.
Too bad the game has an unbearable amount of skipped frames to the point where it becomes unplayable on high end systems.

First game in a long time where you get exactly what you payed for and exactly what was advertised, no micro transactions, no battle pass, just a massive playground where the only one limiting your enjoyment and progression is you. The only thing as grand and marvellous as the world itself are the horrors attempting to keep you from your goals. Elden ring is as hard as you make it. Flaws are few and far between. I wish other game developers put as much love, care, and dedication to its games, its fans, and its employees as FromSoftware has.
