Way better than it has any right to be. Runs on the good old Source engine and it feels so good to play. I wish more indie developers would look into using Source.

My only complaint so far is that there is a trial that plays like a Simon Says game, but it requires you to listen to different sounds and repeat them. It's basically impossible without looking up a guide for deaf or hard of hearing people.

Looking forward to a sequel eventually!

It's pretty solid. If you don't feel like reading the whole review, my summary is that it's around a 7/10.

The graphics are good (maybe a little overrated?) and performance is fine. Don't use the Extreme video preset as I literally can't see a difference from Ultra quality (besides maybe a bump in shadow resolution?) but the performance hit is harsh. As for RTX, if you have a compatible video card, set it to High instead of Ultra. The biggest difference in visual quality with RTX comes from simply having it turned on, while the difference from High and Ultra is minimal. That said, ray tracing seems to be used selectively. Reflections appear to still be using screen-space methods as they disappear at certain angles, sometimes distracting when travelling by boat. The graphics are impressive overall, but I was expecting a little more after reading online reviews.

Using a 2080 Super on Ultra settings, RTX on High, DLSS off, 2560x1080 resolution, I'm getting 70-80 FPS with rare drops below 60 in intense situations. If you need more performance, you can try enabling the DLSS option, provided you have a compatible video card. I believe this game is still using DLSS 1.0, so turning that video option on will result in a noticeably blurrier image with some flickering artifacts.

I haven't played through the entire story yet, but it has been enjoyable so far. Don't have much to say about it, no complaints though.

I've seen a lot of reviews online saying this is the most realistic looking game ever, or it's a 10/10 perfect game. It's not. Weapon jamming is a dumb mechanic, picking up loot and ammo is tedious, the movement is a little on the clunky side, voice acting is a bit corny and sometimes characters awkwardly talk over each-other, I'm tired of wiping the glass of my gas mask all the time, and I've already had the game crash on me. Maybe some of these things improve over time, but they still get in the way of gameplay.

Is it the perfect game? Not in my opinion. Is it bad? Far from it. Definitely worth the current price-tag given the special promotion sale. I'm not sure I would buy this at the current full price of $40, though.

This game isn't actually all that bad. I bought it for $0.99 and I'd say it's absolutely worth that much. The controls are fairly solid and it even worked with my Switch Pro controller surprisingly. The music is pretty decent, nothing to write home about. The game has the classic Mario Kart mechanics like drift-boosting implemented and they work pretty well. Though I've only unlocked 12 of the 16 tracks so far, they have all been pretty enjoyable.

Game of the year? No. It's nothing ground-breaking, but it looks like quite a bit of effort was put into making this. If you can pick it up for under $5 or so, it's some good fun.

Can't even get into the main menu. Why do I need Xbox Live? Why can't I just play the damn game I paid for? Thanks for disappointing me and wasting my time once again, Microsoft. Don't bother with this garbage.

Still no simple way to do pixel-perfect scaling. Views and cameras are still a nightmare to work with. Still no built in menu/button systems.

This is THE Civ game. This game blows the socks off of every other new Civ game that has been released so far. Don't bother with Civ VI or BE, listen to the reviews. This is the one to get.

This isn't very good. The UI is cluttered and messy, the graphics are cartoony and childish, and there are so many different clashing layers of grids/fog on the map that it is hard to tell what is going on. This game has less content than Civ V and is an order of magnitude more expensive. Each aspect of the game looks like it was designed by someone who had a different vision for what the game would be like, and nothing fits together well because of it. Going from V to VI feels like a pretty big step down.

There's a reason why this game doesn't have great reviews; it isn't a great game. This really disappointed me... I wanted to believe that the mixed reviews weren't warranted, that they were unjust. Unfortunately, the reviews were right.

If you were hoping for the next best thing after loving Civ V like I did, don't waste your money. It's not Civ anymore. This is something else entirely.

Simple but fun little game. It's a bit short (1-3 hours) but at the asking price of $2.99, that's alright.

Classic gem of a game, really fun. Unfortunately the PC version of the game is severely lacking in options, even for 2006 standards. There are no control options; you move your tank by moving the mouse, and you aim by moving the mouse. You can see how this would cause issues... you can't move and aim independently. On later stages when things get hectic, it becomes almost impossible to complete them.

Get the game on one of the last-gen consoles where the controls are properly set up. It really is a fun game, but the PC version doesn't do it justice.
