There are lots of space trader games flying around, some are 3d, some are 2d such as this, each with varying degrees of features and depth to their mechanics and the stories they convey, this is one of the bangers. The main story is deep and engaging, the galaxy wide and dangerous if unprepared. There is no one rigid way to role play, too, so go be a trader, a transporter, a bounty hunter, or a mercenary admiral, the sky's the only limit to what you want to be, and the sky is endless.
