A very great base to build upon. It could use some more variety as there is no variety in what order stages appear in and the total amount of different enemies is low. As an early access title it is still very enjoyable but it is certainly not perfect.

This game is bad, I am still despite wanting to leave this game behind, an active modder and literally cannot leave the community as the game has seeped into every aspect of my social life and leaving it would make me more miserable than if I remain in this cesspool of a communtiy. The vanilla base-game and the DLCs are not worth the money or the time investment, however mods like Kaiserreich certainly are. I do strongly advice staying away from this game and stop supporting the greedy DLC policy of Paradox when they have proven time and time again that they are unable to produce content on the same level as the community and don't deserve money that would be better spent supporting independent modders via donations than some massive corporation with unlimited funds.

Great game with a decent amount of depth. It's easy to learn the basics. There are some bugs that can be quite annoying at times but other than that it is really solid. The cartoony art style is excecuted very well. The game feels like a mix between "The Settlers", "Banished" and "Age of Empires 2".

My first Age of Empires game was "Age of Empires Online" which me and my friends loved. Unfortunately the servers for that game shut down in 2014 and we have been looking for a replacement game ever since. During this years summer sale we decided to pick this game up to fill the role of "Age of Empires Online" and it sort of worked. It isn't as enyoable as AoEO but is so much more versitile when it comes to the multiplayer maps and the game options.

I might have little playtime on the pc, but i have played countless hours on the PS3 version and i can tell you that you can sink endless hours into this game.
