I'll be honest and say that I didn't expect much from this game but upon hearing good things about it from a lot of people I decided to check it out for myself and man, was I glad I picked this up.

This is easily one of the best visual novel type video games on Steam right now and I will say is a must-buy for those who are into this type of genre. It's also very anime-ish on a lot of things as well but I feel like that just complements the game a lot more. The characters are also great and are easy to stand out from each other and have pretty rich stories going for them. Jill is best waifu! The setting is also a major plus for being set in a fictional distant future cyberpunk dystopia.

However, one of the best I love about this game is the soundtrack. I could endlessly listen to all of them on repeat for a whole day and it's now up there as one of my all time favorite video game soundtracks. Listening to Every day is night on repeat in the bar is orgasmic.

All in all, I fully recommend this game to anyone who's looking for a simple visual novel type game that honestly does have a lot going for it and these days you can usually get it for a good price as well.

If this game was part of your childhood then you'll find it to be enjoyable, but for everyone else it will look pretty dated and boring.

Not to mention that it's extremely poorly optimized and the framerate is terrible. You can find ways to work around it but it's pretty unacceptable that you have to do that in order to find this game fun.

TLDR: Good for those that played it long ago, not fun for those if this is their first time.

The short answer:
Buy it, this game is worth every penny!

The long answer:
For an indie title, this game is a masterpiece, you can talk about any area of where this game shines from the easy to learn but hard to master game mechanics, the visually amazing artwork, the relaxing soundtrack, the uniqueness of each chapter and the story of Madeline's struggle and drive to push on despite it all resonates well with a lot of people including myself.
This game will not hold your hand, it's challenging but most of the time it's never frustrating save for the more demanding levels towards the end (B-Sides make me wanna die) but it's so damn addicting that you'll come back to it no matter what. If you love platformers, especially demanding ones, this game is right up your ally. You'll love it.

Update: played the new DLC and it still cemented why I fell in love with this game. I won't give out any spoilers but it's a perfect send off and farewell to one of the best games I've ever played.

It's free to play, so you don't have to spend jack on it. For what it provides, you'll find yourself immediately sucked in. The characters all have personality and charm, the gameplay is great even for being 10 years old and the amount of content available is massive for a free to play game. I would definitiely recommend it for anyone and it's never too late to join in on the fun.
