A VN style game with a short but deeply thought provoking plot.

Really love the music and was already a fan of "you're killing me" song before I realised there's a game based on the album.

Playing with really good headphones is indeed a valid requirement for this game lol

"Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken. Amounting only to sacrifices..."

Rarely does a game generates such levels of hype and then not only lives up-to it but even manages to surpass it.

Elden ring after spending 70+ hours in it I can confidently say.. THIS GAME IS EFFIN AWESOME and this is coming from someone who's never played any souls-born games before

every encounter, every discovery it all just happens so naturally, the way this world is designed, the amount of different options available to you for building your character up and choosing how to play. and yes i'm probably like the 100000th guy to say this but i'll say it anyways... THIS GAME IS BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG

CONS

Now yes there are some drawbacks too like how in the late game, pretty much every NPC can 1-shot you ESPECIALLY if you haven't invested certain levels into vigor(health).
And the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Keyboard+mouse implementation or the shader compilation stutters or massive freezes when load transitioning into a new area.
Or the fact that there's no widescreen support or FOV sliders.

I play on a 60 Hz monitor anyway so the 60 FPS cap didn't really bothered me that much but I get that it's an issue for many

P.S : despite what "souls game elites" say, use every option that is available to you in order to overcome any hard challenge you face, there's a reason why devs added that stuff in-game to begin with.
There's no "proper certified" way of playing through this game, in-fact it's actually one of the game's best aspect with how many different choices you have for overcoming those certain challenges

Probably one of the best open world exploration/survival game i've ever played.

As far as gameplay and progression goes this one's really a true gem, i hope upcoming open world or survival games take notes from this one, the idea that you can freely explore the world and progression not being barred by invisible barriers but rather your own lack of proper equipment and stuff which really does add a meaningful progression and as you venture more further and deeper you get to see more different biomes and discover more stuff which makes up as a great rewarding experience as well.
(for the first playthorugh, playing on survival mode is highly recommended for the best gameplay experience.)

While i did enjoyed the game and i do think it's a masterpiece, the PC port (steam version) is just abysmal to the point it's not even playable until you download and install user created patches and fixes(like FAR).

And now to add insult to the injury they just released a new version the game on the windows store with game pass which has fixed most of the issues plaguing steam version.

GG square enix for ignoring steam port for all these years only to release a patched version on another storefront.

As much as i loved the gameplay and story and stuff, i absolutely cannot ignore this or recommend this version of Nier:Automata.
