The new mechanics are a ton of fun and bring a lot of different gameplay to the old For the King style! There are a bit of bugs, but the Dev team has been quick and responsive to any large bugs. They update quickly and often. Their bug report system is the easiest I've ever come across, hit F2 and type a description and you're done. They screenshot and get the coding themselves.

Hmm, the only con I can think of in the series is that sometimes the Scourges spawn super bullshiet across the map sometimes at the start and there's nothing we can really do.

I still highly recommend this for a group of gamers willing to chill for a couple of hours doin' DnD like rolls. My friends I declare this game number 1 in our Top 10 games to eat dinner to. ( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡• )
