I got this for effectively "free" in a pack when buying the base game and I still want my money back.

Great idea, horrible missions. Rage inducing. It's killed my desire to play but I "have" to beat them all to unlock parts in my save. You can do a custom sandbox and avoid it all. Suggest you do, but if you already have a save you're out of luck.

You never figure out what you're doing or why. Or maybe at the very end who knows. It's all random pointless stuff. The timetables are so insanely tight unless you're some X4 god, good luck. Some missions are RNG, some are broken, some make you want to punch the screen.

I enjoyed one of them, and it was mindless shoot the capital with your capital. Boom you win. Don't have the cash for one in my sandbox so that's the only reason. The rest are boring make 50k in trade, mine 200 rocks, but do it 5 min, rage inducing space "racing", air duck ping-pong sim, spend 30min afk while your spit wad guns cool off, etc.

I put a 100 or so hours in sandbox and loving it, which I know is rookie numbers but still. But this dear God stay away. Save wasting hours of time, headache, and frustration. Or just get it and check the custom settings to unlock it all so you don't have to deal with it.

Normal X4 again, great, buy it. But this is the DLC review. Great idea, wasted. But who knows I'm just one dude on the internet. Get it on sale and try for yourself. But highly suggest you do not get full price nor do this a new player. It's clearly not meant to be. Even if the game tells you...

Solid 60FPS, DLC included, fully customizable controls (keyboard, mouse, and controller), 4K resolution support, and virtually no loading screens. The port is phenomenal. I actually had to go make sure the game was actually saving because it happens so fast.

As far as the game, it's a blend of turnbased with real time. Where you get points to spend each turn and you then control each unit real time (One at at time). I bought this blind and have not regeted it. Some basic tatics are needed, like not runnning your units in front of a tank loaded with cannnons and machineguns. But you're learn quick enough.

Would highly recommend upgrading everything you can, the extra hp and gear helps. As a well as aiming for the head (Grabbing a sniper for most missions is amazing also, ♥ Marina Wulfstan)

So toss down 20 bucks and give this game a shot!
