It's a fun little Portal-inspired puzzle game that I really enjoyed playing through. Would recommend!

Vampire Survivors is what you get when a developer uses mobile game design tricks to enhance the gameplay experience rather than their bank account. It's so much greater than the sum of its parts, and it's way more fun than it realistically should be. If I need to unwind after a stressful day or otherwise feel like popping digital bubble wrap for half an hour, this is the perfect game to scratch that particular itch. It's a very satisfying game and I highly recommend it.

I first learned about this game when buying Fearofdark's discography on Bandcamp and noticed he did the soundtrack for this game. And it's SO good. I checked the Steam page and decided to get it, and I'm glad I did... even if I really, really suck at it. This game is HARD. If you think you're good at puzzle games, definitely give this one a try. Dr. Kobushi's Labyrinthine Laboratory does a lot with a little in terms of its core game mechanics, and it absolutely works in its favor.

I've been playing BEMANI's rhythm games ever since I was a kid. I had Dance Dance Revolution MAX 2, Extreme, SuperNOVA 2, and X on my PS2, and later on imported a Beatmania IIDX controller and a few of those games as well. Fast forward to a few months ago when I learned they made a VR game too, and I knew I had to try it eventually.

Today it was on sale and I finally got it in the VR Bundle with Zone of the Enders 2, annnnnd... I think it's alright ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
It definitely doesn't hold a candle to their high-quality traditional rhythm games, but for their first attempt at a VR rhythm game, it definitely could've been worse. It definitely has that "Developers' First VR Game" feel to it though, and I think BEMANI could improve it quite a bit in a sequel. Considering this game doesn't even have a Wikipedia page though, I don't think it sold well enough for that to happen :(

One thing I do particularly like about this game though is its style. It's so flashy and colorful compared to a lot of its competitors, and actually playing on a stage with virtual band mates is honestly pretty sick.

TL;DR: I think it's an alright VR rhythm game with plenty of style but it's a bit jank.

This is a neat, trippy little toy to mess around with, but I would definitely wait for a sale.

This is a very sweet, heartfelt, wholesome, relaxing game, and just long enough to get its story across. The game's presentation is great, the art direction is perfect, and it's generally polished very well. The voice acting is great too!

I will say though, the focus is definitely more-so on the story than the puzzles themselves. The puzzles themselves are decent (if a little too straightforward for my taste, aside from the epilogue puzzle, that one was great), but if you're not invested in this story about reconnecting relationships in a quaint little town, you might be a bit disappointed. Again, I enjoyed this game from start to finish as it is, but I feel the story focus should be made a little more clear on the store page. Other than that though, I have no complaints. I definitely recommend this game if you're looking for something more wholesome to play. It's the perfect example of "Short but Sweet".

This is a fantastic Picross game with an insane amount of puzzles to solve and has the highest skill ceiling of any Picross game I've ever played. I've gotten so good at Picross at this point that I can pretty consistently solve 15x15 puzzles within 5 minutes, so having some truly massive puzzles to really sink my teeth into and spend an hour or two piecing together is GREATLY appreciated. There are also a couple other fun modes too, namely Squared (which goes by Minesweeper logic) and Links (which plays like one of those connect-the-dots minigames), that I've been having fun getting the hang of as well.

It's free-to-start with puzzles beyond the couple of free packs you're given out of the box being locked behind coins. You have the option of creating/voting puzzles for free coins, purchasing coins outright, or purchasing 1-month free passes. I appreciate that the game gives you multiple ways to unlock more puzzles! Heck, I might even buy a pack of passes myself since I like doing Picross puzzles during my breaks at work and I feel like I'll get a lot of mileage out of it... That and I want to support the developers!

As someone who has a lot of mixed feelings about the base game, leaning towards the negative side, I was pleasantly surprised by this DLC. It's not perfect - it does have some flaws and glitches, some of which are new and a few of which are carried over from Security Breach - but it feels like a much more cohesive experience overall.

Compared to Security Breach, Ruin is far, far more linear, to the point where it can almost feel like an on-rails haunted house attraction at points. That said, I think that improves the experience much more than it detracts from it. One of my main complaints with Security Breach was that it felt like there were way too many fetch quests and not enough meaningful content to fill the gigantic Pizzaplex map. Ruin, by contrast, is much more focused and streamlined, with much greater polish, a clear sense of progression, and a mask mechanic that really spices up the exploration and moment-to-moment gameplay so it doesn't just feel like a glorified walking simulator. I also really like the atmosphere of Ruin a lot more. It actually feels like an environment conducive to a horror experience this time.

However, I don't think this DLC is perfect either. There are some pretty infuriating bugs that can crop up if you go back looking for secrets, both of the endings I got glitched out on me, and they really could have gone further with some of the interesting concepts they present. There are also some writing and dialogue issues I would go into detail about, but I would prefer not to have to blanket a chunk of my review in a big spoiler tag.

All that being said, however, I am willing to cut Ruin some slack considering it's completely free of charge for anyone who owns Security Breach. Despite its problems, I would definitely say it's at least worth your time in my opinion. It doesn't quite live up to its potential, but at the end of the day, I still think it's good enough to recommend.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is one of my favorite games of all time. If you enjoy compelling mysteries, wacky and enjoyable characters, and solid puzzles, you're in for an absolute treat.

This remaster is great too, but please don't buy the Steam version; for some reason Capcom has been going back and adding Enigma Protector DRM to some of their Steam releases. This DRM has a shady background and sets off many virus scanners. I no longer feel safe playing this game on Steam.

Right off the bat, I gotta compliment this game's optimization. These are the lowest system requirements I've seen for a big 3D game like this in a long time. Hell, my 10-year-old gaming rig is somehow still above the recommended specs and it handles this game like a champ... and this game is in freaking Unreal Engine, for crying out loud! I really wish more modern games were this well optimized. I've seen people complain about the framerate dipping when lots of blood effects are on screen, but I didn't notice that personally. Not sure if that's just me being pretty desensitized to choppy framerates at this point or if my setup just hits different for some weird technical reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The game looks fantastic, and I actually quite like the mildly pixellated textures. They give the game a unique visual style that I really enjoy. I also really want to compliment this game's use of lighting. It really helps make things more memorable, colorful, and distinct. It's a detail that doesn't often get a lot of focus, so I'm glad to see it get the same attention to detail as everything else.

As far as gameplay goes... I never played the original System Shock, so I really can't determine this remake's faithfulness for myself, though I've heard good things in that regard. As a complete System Shock noob, I'm having an absolute blast with it so far. I'm sorry I don't have a ton to say about it yet, but I'd rather wait until I've played more of the game to dive into that. I'm making sure I take my sweet time with it and really savor this first playthrough.

I will say though, they need to change their social media approach a bit. I very nearly avoided buying this game after they doubled down on posting AI-made promotional art on Twitter in late April-early May. I don't care how thematically appropriate it is, that's not cool. Please don't do that again.
