This game is charming as hell and I hope we get more spinoffs like it in the future. It's a bit too easy for my preference, but the focus is clearly on just having fun with these characters in a unusual setting so I can definitely look past that.

Also, getting official artwork of Sonic the Hedgehog in the Family Guy death pose was not on my April Fools bingo card this year lol

This game is surprisingly enjoyable! I got it on sale for 28 cents and it was worth every penny. The gameplay is decent, the art style is unique for a game like this, and the music is really good and a definite highlight. It doesn't just have that one song from the meme, but it has plenty of aggressive phonk music that matches very well with it. There's even gameplay effects that sometimes kick in when the beat drops. Pretty decent time-killer, in my opinion. You could do a lot worse for the price.

This game just came out and it's now my favorite 2D platformer. Highly recommended.

Once again, I really wish Steam had some sort of neutral option for reviews because I have some really mixed feelings about this game and I feel really bad giving it a No.

I think this is a really cute concept for a Minesweeper game, and if it was executed better I would have a lot more than two hours logged right now. Clearing country maps one by one and seeing the world map gradually fill with color as you progress sounds really, really satisfying. I also like that this game has Workshop support as well, with a more Picross-esque twist to it where you reveal some cool pixel art when you're done.

That said, this game has two glaring problems that really need to be addressed.
First off, with how enormous some of these maps are (I'm looking at you, Russia), there really needs to be a "Save and Quit" option. I am not doing all of that in a single sitting, especially when I'm mainly playing this on my Steam Deck during my breaks at work.
Second and arguably far more important, the mine-placing AI needs a lot of work. It feels like 80% of the time I end up stuck in an impossible situation at the end of a map having to literally guess where that last damn mine is and end up losing all my progress due to sheer bad luck when I guess wrong. On top of that, the cost to undo such a "mistake" is so expensive that it's never worth it. That is horrible design for a puzzle game. When your Minesweeper game uses non-rectangular boards, especially with small and/or separated areas, it's even more important that you get that aspect right. This is especially important to do now that the upcoming 2.0 update is going to automatically generate tiles for Workshop levels as opposed to the manual placement that occurred before.

I don't hate this game, but I really, really want to love it and I just can't because i always end up eventually getting frustrated every time I play it through no fault of my own.

If the developers see this and fix these problems, I will GLADLY change this review to a glowing Yes.

This game is awesome!!! It's a bit on the short side if you simply go from one boss directly to the next, but in that sense, Jet Island is the definition of "short but sweet". I wish there were more VR games out there that were this ambitious with their movement mechanics. Also, I'm not going to spoil anything but these boss fights are some of the coolest things I've ever experienced in a VR game. The movement is really smooth and so inherently fun that simply traversing the island going to my next objective is enjoyable in its own right. The multiplayer works great too; I convinced my best friend to get it and we had an absolute blast playing it together, and we never ran into any bugs or issues.

You'll need some STRONG vr legs for this game though; Jet Island does not mess around. Thankfully I was able to enjoy it since I'm pretty much immune to motion sickness, but if you're worried about painting the floor green, you may want to watch a playthrough instead.

I had the previous JellyCar games on my iPod Touch growing up and I have really fond memories of them. Imagine my surprise when I find out one day that Walaber was coming back to make a fourth one! I followed his progress on the game through Twitter and eventually played it for myself. This game's really good and a great successor to the original JellyCar trilogy. If you're either nostalgic for the old JellyCar games, or just want some simple lighthearted fun, I can gladly recommend this game.

It's not perfect, but it's still a very good game and a desperately needed breath of fresh air for the Sonic franchise.
