Too early to fully judge the game but shows a pretty fun concept, similar to that of old school games. I reckon with abit more time it will be a good light rpg

I read alot of negative reviews and made me lose hope. Tried the game anyway and..
I'll be quick:
Most complain about:
1) Lack of ammo: The chainsaw regens the 1/3 of the fuel so you can chainsaw weak enemies. You can go balls deep 24/7. (At higher difficulty you need to make your shots count)

2) Performance: Yeah, this is a wild-card. Refund option exist.

3) Platformer-like: Ofcourse it's platformer like. DOOM IS A MOBILITY-SHOOTER. Speaking of that: ALOT of new agility
moves got added which makes it much more intense. You feel like batman! But deadly.

4) Textures: I personally like them/don't mind them. But you decide! There are comparasion videos.
BUT REMEMBER!: Ingame the light is very grim and dim AND the textures WEAR OFF the more damage they take.

5)Bethesda account: Just type your email there and boom..that's it. I don't think writing an email negates ALL the good stuff.

And now for the good stuff:

1) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of lore
2) Gameplay is still rip and tear but it's more..thoughfull brutality. Not a brain-dead "game reviewers" who only holds w and spams m1.
3) Mobility makes it so fun. Before you would just jump abit and walk around rooms. Now ya gotta explore the world! It's really fun. Especially now that mid-battle its no longer high-low ground difference but also you can "kinda be a bird(?)". Which gives it A MUCH MORE FAST-PACED action feel.
4) Your upgrades got upgrades.
5) Ya got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fortress. You now got a fortress to work towards. So now doing secrets and stuff IS visibily rewarding! The completionist do enjoy it.
6) I personally find all aspects of game improved. Like they knew DOOM 2016 is good so they said "why start from scratch? Just improve the experience WHILE ADDING SO MUCH BACKSTORY!"

Should you play it? I personally find it better than DOOM 2016. Those who complain about it JUST WISH TO COMPLAIN OR NITPICK TINY, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHICH CAN EASILY BE COUNTERED IF THEY THINK FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS AT THE TIME.

Also for me 60$ is ALOT of money so I took a gamble w/ this game. Trust me, it PAID OFF.

Came for the porn.
Acctualy stayed for the really good RPG, good story and very diverse quest options. 45H in and I still feel like I only played for like half the game or a 3rd. Really ought to buy this.

You got a alot of guns (and very diverse, fantastic view for gun lovers like me)
You got raids to use guns like a mad man.
You got a galaxy to wander around.
It's optimized, I am running it just fine 90+ FPS while it looks VERY crisp.

Overall:
It's a pretty fun game and it's free so all ya gotta do is try it and have fun. If ya don't have fun..well its free ya lost nothing

Playing it with 5 other mates and it's nice.
But we forgot about the kid and were to busy killing mutants.
If you like survival games/immerive story (aka you dont get thrown info at your face and/or youre told everything + waypoints and gotta find it and figure it our yourself (mostly)/games good for playing with mates you might like the forest. :)

I came back to this game 3.70 years later since it was alpha... now it's a completety different game.

Gameplay itself is kinda the same: You grind resources, big factions will hunt you down for lolz and you lose everything over and over again or you join the big boyes (after grinding 100 hours).
But other things mostly changed:

-Rust used to lightweight performance wise (I used to run it with intelhd). A big survival game even if youre pc was bad, now they are trying to make their game use as many resources as possible (and beyond that) [8gb+ of ram why]

-Community turned toxic (alot more so): Before people near you would say things like; "RUN WHILE YOU CAN PLEB"; "You can't run away" blah stuff like that to toy with you before you died anyway. Now it's just "GET OWNED". [Atleast thats what I heard alot when I tried playing it again at a friends]

-It went from a game where you purchased it and did your hearts desire to BUY SSKIIINS simulator v232. Event he devs showed their greed. I mean common, you first see the skins/hats whatever THEN you see the game desc.

All and all, gameplay seems the same (with some addons) but the other things that standed for the game: A "Not that demanding game where you can pretend you're a warlord in wastelands" is gone.

I also got banned for doing a bug in this game..so that's fun.

I PLAYED THIS GAME BLIND THINKING IT WAS AN ACTUAL DATING NOVEL.
I REGRET ALOT MY ACTIONS.

I never was able to play the game.
