Incredible blend of roguelike dungeon crawling, base building and management. The combat is fun and quite diverse, although it might take a bit of getting used to if you're not using a controller. Overall, it is fluent, responsive, and really satisfying. Difficulty balance is very on point for the most part, I did find some of the mini bosses to be more annoying and difficult than any of the big bosses, but never unfair or unreasonably difficult compared to the other enemies. The game progression feels natural, and you never really have to stop and wonder what your next objective is supposed to be.
Base management is also very well done, just tedious enough to make you want to care for and improve your cult and followers, but it never becomes too much of a headache.
The soundtrack is also fantastic, just so damn good and fits so well, I don't think I could ever get tiered of it while playing. River Boy left us something incredible to be remembered by, an absolute GOAT.
If I have one complaint about it is that towards the end, if you are going for full achievements, it starts feeling a bit grindy but overall, an excellent game, highly recommendable to any roguelike fan, and even to anyone who's not very familiar with the genre and would like something that's not really difficult, with plenty of content to offer while not feeling endless.
