Yes, it's pay2win. Yes, it's even pay2play when you're first playing. It doesn't require you to pay money for anything, it just makes it so you don't have to wait. Yes, coming from Puzzle Quest 2, or Galactix it's extremely annoying that you can't sit down for 4 hours at a time and grind through levels. Once you get past those major complaints (and they are valid) you find a fun puzzle quest game. The art is fun, variety a good time. The only real issue (aside from those very real complaints I listed) is once you find a playstyle, 90% of the characters you find in game are useless (I'm looking at you Spiderman). The missions that come in every day/week force you to change it up, though I still find myself going back to my normal crew when able. Remember, this started life as an iPhone game, so treat it as such - play 5-10 minutes at a time, and you won't have the complaints most see.
