NieR: Automata has successfully subverted the many misconceptions myself and many others feel towards it to deliver one of the most profound, emotional pieces of art I have experienced in and outside of the medium of gaming. In doing so, Automata tells a humanistic tale disguised as a nihilistic tale a la Neon Genesis: Evangelion, all in Yoko Taro's self-described goal of allowing the player to "feel."

Combat is the smooth, flashy character-action combat Platinum Games is beloved for, while the soundtrack supplements the many-layered story to a T in a set of beautifully composed tracks.

The only possible gripe I could have with this game is the technical limitations of invisible walls and relatively mediocre-graphics that I'd consider irrelevant when juxtaposed with the beautiful artstyle present.

Absolutely incredible story, atmosphere, graphics, and soundtrack. Gameplay was great. Incredibly buggy, unoptimized, and lacking good AI, but as a whole CDPR has told a practically unparalleled story. Once the bugs have been fixed, this game will be a true masterpiece.

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a story-driven open world RPG set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher, you play as professional monster hunter Geralt of Rivia tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.

An absolutely incredible game, with side quests rivaling the main story line of others. The colossal open world actually benefits the enjoyability of the game, rather than hindering it or reducing the incredible story.

It's honestly a great game but not yet one you can pick up and play for a little bit (4+ hours set aside for your play session if you NEVER want to lose progress). The physics and handtracking are great, and it truly feels like an "actual" VR game, insofar as it has a story AND VR mechanics, rather than being a port or a sandbox/tech demo. It is also incredibly well optimized, I can get 120 fps on 100% ss with a gtx 1070 and r7 3800x with little to no reprojection.

After completing the Witcher 3, this game has satisfied my itch for another great roleplaying experience, with an engaging story (not to say the games are all that similar, just that if you enjoyed the Witcher there's a reasonable chance you'll enjoy this game too).

Unlike practically every other medieval RPG, you are not a god. You play as a peasant named Henry, the son of a blacksmith, who is incapable of practically everything at the start.
It takes hours of training to simply read, swordfight effectively, and to gain a reputation. A single bandit can easily best you at the beginning of the game, and this doesn't change without training.

The story is incredibly well-done and has kept me engaged and constantly wanting to further Henry in society. Some of side-quests, as well, are able to rival main-quests in their intricacy. That said, however, some side-quests are clearly, as their name implies, SIDE-quests.

A rather interesting thing to note about this game is that it is an actual medieval game. Not a fantasy game. If you do a web search on certain kings, events, or locations (such as Skalitz), they will appear on historical websites.

The game, in addition to historical accuracy, also has gritty realism, requiring you to sleep and eat regularly. It is more of a survival game than games in the survival genre.

Now, after about a year post-release, I have not experienced any glitches nor bugs. Not to say that there aren't any, but I, myself, have yet to experience any.

In addition to succeeding as a historical game, this game also excels as a RPG. There are different abilities, skill trees, and a unique system of conversation, wherein your clothes, bloodstains, and overall reputation affect your ability to interact with people. Rather than a static measure of your strength, charisma, and speech, these three statistics are measured against the person you are talking with, adding to this game's realism. For instance, a bloodstain may intimidate a peasant more than a knight, and luxurious clothing may impress a peasant more than a Lord.

To briefly sum it up, this game is great if you are looking for a realistic medieval game with a great story and a steep lurning curve (the combat, somewhat similar to For Honor's, takes a great deal of time to stop feeling impossible), but not if you are looking for an identical experience to a fantasy game. Although it technically falls in the same genre, as a roleplaying game, this game is absolutely nothing like Elder Scrolls other than its first person perspective and the inclusion of bows and swords.

An enjoyable, unique take on the fighter genre. Some may call it a smash bros clone, but it feela much more as a game in the same style, rather than a clone. All purchasable items are cosmetic, other than a DLC that unlocks all the characters. These characters can be easily obtained by simply playing the game, and it doesn't feel like a difficult or unrewarding grind. All in all, the game is a worthwhile dowbload, and keeps you engaged, with short, enjoyable matches.
