It's unfortunately nearly unplayable due to server issues. Scoreboard shows 25 ping but combat feels like i'm playing with around 500. Teleporting zombies, unregistered hits and the like. Avoid for now.

This is a review from a perspecitve of someone that:
- has not played MGS 3 before this release
- played through it using mouse and keyboard

I therefore can't comment on features missing or graphics being not as good as some other releases. The controles for M&K are servicable. Important to note that there are no settings for pretty much anything, you can't even change the resolution (there's a mod for that thankfuly), and to change the keybinds i had to use an external program. The way mouse control was implemented is that it emulates the gamepad which is noticable (a hard limit on how fast you can move the camera for example) but i find that the game is for the most part slow and it didn't hinder me much. Like i said before, M&K implemenation is not ideal but I found it good enough.
Most issues i had were innate to the game itself. For example the first person mode is tied to to where Snake is facing instead of where the camera is facing. It takes getting used to.

I you (like me) are curious on what the fuss is about with this game i reccomend it. It really is as good as people say.

I'm not a big fan of Starship Troopers. I saw the movie but i never knew that there was a big fan base for it, i bought this game because i'm a big fan of PvE coop shooters.

The thing that separates this one from L4D, Paydays or Killing Floors is the 16 player team. What this means is that there's a lower capacity for carrying (there's room for it, but to a much lesser degree) and a much bigger dependency on your team, which i find refreshing. Getting caught while away from your team will mean death, even from a tiny group of enemies. Shooting feels great both from how the guns sound to the screeching of dying bugs. This game will appeal to the type of person who really enjoys those parts in movies where someone unloads a machine gun. Think of this game like Starcraft, but you're playing as the tiny marine.
There are times (mostly on lower difficulties) where there's nothing to do but wait for the objective to get done, but when the action starts, everything comes together. The spectacle of bugs trying to breach your bases perimeter from all sides while music is blasting and you can hear all your teammates weapons going off while you run as fast as you can to a resupply is immaculate.

Soundtrack is interesting, it's the old school movie orchestral type.
Base building is small but servicable.
Weapon, utility and perk selection is sparse for now. Do not buy this game if you're looking for build variety, it's to early for that.
There's a single but big map.

Whatever deity there is, please don't let this game die.

Too late to get into.

Learning curve is very steep and most of the people that are left playing are experienced and will wipe the floor with you using frustrating mechanics. Not to say that it's impossible to get good, it's just that the road to get there is filled with many hours of dragging your balls through glass.

Only buy if you have unmatched patience.

Kane and Lynch 2 walked so that Max Payne 3 could run.

This game is dirty, disgusting, it's a chore to play, you'll be playing in uniteresting places, shooting mechanics are bland and it feels like he camera is fighting you. All of this is of course the point, the game is meant to be outrageous and unpleasant, the developers wanted to make a dirty game which is why the reception K&L2 gets is so baffling to me.

IO Interactive knowns how to make good games. It's obvious that nobody at IO looked at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera mechanics in this game and said "Mhm, this is an improvement over Hitman: Blood Money!". The concept of games being "bad" intentionally isn't new and wasn't at the time K&L2 released, Ice-Pick Lodge did it in 2005 with "Pathologic" which is arguably a worse experience than this game, Running with Scissors is only known because of "Postal 2" and their just recently released Postal 4 is sitting at very positive reviews because the game a ♥♥♥♥ like it's supposed to. I don't know what the secret ingredient is. Does it need to be explained somehow? I don't think Pathologic does anything special to show it's true intentions.

Anyway, the game was designed as an "anti-game" and i think it did it well as demostrated by all the negative reviews. If you keep the design direction in mind then you might appreciate it for what it is. It's around 4 hours long and can be bought for a dollar on humble bundle.

Best in it's niche genre and one of the best games made. What makes it so good ultimetly killed it financially as it sold poorly which means that we can forget about a sequel.
If you played System Shock 2 and enjoyed it then this might become you favorite game of all time, this game takes concepts from that game and massively expands on them while adding Deus Ex style branching paths of solving issues and reaching objectives. In system shock 2 you could traverse back to previous areas but there wasn't much reason for that besides grabing a chemical or using a replicator that had the items you need unlike in Prey, which has more incentives for backtracking like additional objectives and locked rooms that require some tool you don't posses which leaves me to point out an unfurtunate flaw with this game which is not the fault of the devs but rather what video game are:
If you play the "intended" way, the game is piss easy. Games have rules, you can't be put in a situation where you get stuck without a way out no matter how unlikely it is, for example:
Some rooms have no roof so you can use a Gloo gun to build a staircase and get inside through the roof. Now it's pretty much impossible but let's imagine a situation where you used your last gloo ammo to get in and then you saved the game. If there's no way to get out for "free" or at least in way that you are sure to have the tools for then you're stuck and you have to restart the game. No matter how unlikely that is game devs are forced to prevent that from happening.
Exploration is affected by this issue. You're heavily incentivised to explore but if the game had the best resources off the beaten path then you're not exploring by choice which the devs really wanted the player to have (freedom to choose your approach). This means that's if you go straight from objective to objective then you'll have enough resources to beat the game (so you're not robbed of your freedom) and this by proxy means that if you heavily explore then you get really strong and you will destroy anything the game will throw at you. This is a big issue because there's no easy way out of it, some could rightfully argue that forcing people to play a certain way would be tidious so we're left with the problem i presented which means that we'll never get a tripple A game of this sort again.
This game is truely a tragic tale as it's the best immersive sim out there and that is it's downfall. If you decide to buy it then do take your time with it because you'll feel hungry for more.

Quintessential Deus Ex experience. Many ways of solving tasks, great story, twists and lore for those who want to look for it with a very satisfying ending. My only complaint is that it escalates a tad too quickly. Got to play if you enjoyed the main game even slightly.

You're going to like it a lot if you're a fan of survival horror and story rich games. It's not as memorable as the first game but that's because the first game came out in 2005 and with that come dated graphics which make you use your imagination to fill in the gaps. With that being said, this is a huge improvement in every way except the music (which is subjective) and performance. The developers are facing some financial issues considering this is a niche title and it didn't sell well. Because of that Ice Pick Lodge had to cut some work force and the content is coming a bit slow. The game currently has 1 out of 3 promised scenarios available but that's not a huge deal considering the one scenario we have is long and beautifuly crafted and the rest of the story is definitely coming. This is one of those games that you will see in few years on some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game journalist blog with the title "Hidden gem" which is a shame. This is a unique experience worth the price.

I love this dlc. First of all the art style is exellent, the theme is centered around vampires but instead of going with standard human-bat system they went further and used insects like ticks and mosquitos. It's quite brilliant, enemies really look scary especially when they take a bite out of your heroes while standing tall with their pinkies out not accepting the fact tha their humanity is slowly slipping away. Although this is a subjective matter the music is great and has that epic style to it for a got reason - courtyard and it's enemies are difficult. Bosses (except the repeatable last one) are hard and require of you that you know what you're doing so it might be better to take some time learning the base game first if it's your first playthrough. This dlc introduces a new disease which ups your speed while taking away some health and resist %. This heroes can be fed blood in specific moments for a temporary buffs. Whenever this make the game harder or not im not sure. The Flagellant is a strong and self-sufficient class. His damage might look weak but it's offset by the high bleeds. Strongest thing about him are the two panic buttons (Exsanguinate and Redeem) which when the Flagellant get bellow 50% health let's him heal himself and an ally or heal himself and deal high damage to an enemy. He also doesn't suffer from death's door debuffs and gets a unique affliction which buffs his stats although he still can damage himself or other heroes because of it. In conclusion Crimson Court is definitly worth it's price.
