I've come to love and hate Kingdom Come Deliverance II in equal measure. There are so many aspects of the game that I enjoy, and as a perfectionist and completionist I strive to milk the most out of every facet of gameplay.

However, there are enough gamebreaking and terrible bugs in the game that turn an otherwise mild hardcore first person RPG into a hellish slog. Restarting every 30 minutes isn't fun. Having to pay fines and listen to citizens berate you for crimes you never committed is not fun. Having the entire thief archetype nerfed to hell is not fun. Many people enjoy playing the outlaw, but the current state of the game makes it extremely unfun to play. Also, even if you commit no crimes, you'll be charged for them anyway, and NPCs will refuse to talk to you and straight up attack you.

After 100 hours, I can say the current state of the game is a mixed bag. I love the story and mercantile systems, armor collecting and crafting, etc. However, the bugs suck the fun out of the game. I won't be picking this back up for a few months until patches and mods roll out to fix the crime system.

5/10 Game ✨️

***EDIT:
As I describe below I'm changing my review from a "No" to a "Yes". This game is good and has great potential. Is there a learning curve? There absolutely is, and it's important to know you'll be spending a vast amount of time learning how to play if you've never tried this series before.

Overall this game gets an 8/10 from me with a possible 10/10 when mods are released for everyone.

I finally decided to scoop this up during the Summer Sale and I couldn't be more pleased. This is exactly what I've been looking for--a turn-based fantasy with depth of character and compelling story lines. I couldn't be more excited to experience the rest of this game. This is the most fun I've had since I first played the Witcher III all those years ago.
