I must say, i really love this game.
It has some faulty online play, but when it works, it's one of the most fun, challenging yet zen-like experience for your friendgroup and maybe just you.
If you are done getting toxic over video games like League of Legends, but still want something on the line, this game is perfect.
There will be banter, trying to optimise and talking about what work-flow suits each person best, making it all work smoothly, yet still getting the good kind of stress from the gameplay.

If they made online way better and intuitive, this game could be perfection within the rouge-like/lite genre.

People say its one of the best fighting games out there currently, but this game sucks dongers, sorry to say it.
Unless you want to invest ridiculous amount of time studying the game.
Facts that make you not want to buy the game:
The playerbase online is really toxic, especially on steam
The port is really bad, it crashes if you do anything during loading like using steam overlay or alt tabbing, and just crashes a lot in general ontop of unstable performance.
NO ANTI-CHEAT OR REPORT SYSTEM, i'm dead serious....
The online is a joke, basically only ranked mode to play and netcode is bad. With the toxic community ontop its really not an enjoyable experience.
Singleplayer content is really REALLY bad, i can't even describe it.
DLC sucks, paying for characters is P2W since you can't practice against them without owning the DLC, also frame data DLC...
Rude and non-verbal game devs, they just tend to their world tour thing and balance around the results of the pros there, one of the big reasons online is so bad now...
Positives:
Mashing buttons is pretty fun and effective in this game, fun if you new or like that.
Local versus with friends can be fun, since its way less toxic and you can actually learn the match up along the way with the friend.

Overall i spend way to much time on this game, since i love Tekken and 7 was better at launch, (except netcode) but unless you are a FGC diehard yada yada i wouldnt buy this, there are better products more fun and enjoyable.
Also if you buy the game anyways, use the DLC unlocker since the game has no anti cheat anyways.

After a lot of talk with friends about competitive games, i will give Tekken a positive note on that one.
While it can feel unfair and balanced, by it's nature it is one of the most balanced and deep competitive games to play and learn (as long as you got all DLC) with no BS match making system made to drive player engagement, but a clean simple and easy to follow rank and matching system. Unlike many other competitive games, if you are good enough you can always just block/dodge and punish correctly and win and no matching with bad teammates will lose you a game.

Of course you should play, whats wrong with you?

Just remember to community patch it if you want to run higher than 30 fps

I love this game, just the best platform fighter out there with actual great online play and dev support.
Really is a player first game.

Is amazing, remember to mod for QoL.
I just wish that the online/server hosting was better, because currently its really, really bad :(

Also dev team aint stupid like Nintedo who removes fun mechanics like wavedash.

Nintendo do be hella missing out.

Only thing this game needs is to be cheaper, so more people join in.
