Another fantastic instalment in a legendary series.

The gameplay is meaty, fluid, and satisfying, Making you feel like the best version of the Slayer we have seen to date.
The story is solid and engaging, albeit, a bit unclear/fast paced at times. But this isn't much of a problem as DOOM is one of those media franchises that you can just turn your brain off and enjoy the pandemonium.

I will say though that the WEAKEST part of this game is the music.
It is VERY clear that Mick Gordon set the bar way too high - something that is a boon to how great of a composer he is.
His departure years ago left some massive shoes to fill - and sadly - DOOM: The Dark Ages misses the mark with an iconic, heavy-hitting soundtrack that the series has been known for these past 9 years.
The music also glitched out occasionally, and just wouldn't play for entire fights/sections of the game.

I have some other "complaints":
Like how the dragon-flight missions seemed a bit over-done and repetitive, even though there were only a few. It felt more like a chore, and took away from the fun and chaotic combat of the main gameplay.
Also, nitpicking, Ahzrak never really felt like a VILLAIN. He was just a bit too goofy looking for me to ever really believe he was a threat. Also, if I have to go through ONE MORE BOSS PHASE WITH HIM I'M GONNA LOSE IT. I swear the dude had literally 4 phases spanning 2 chapters.

Overall, a phenomenal game from the team at id Software!
I waited 5 years for this and was not disappointed, and will be 100%-ing the game over the next few days.

9/10

Good game!

Very basic simulator game. If you are a fan of other simulators, this one is definitely worth the try!
I will say, for the price, it does leave a bit to be desired with lack of overall diversity in the gameplay loop.
Maybe wait for a better sale. But altogether the game is a vibe and well made.

I have NEVER been one to enjoy JRPG style games.
Like... ever.
But I saw all the praise this game was getting and had to give it a shot myself and OH MY GOD IS IT AWESOME!
There are so many familiar aspects that make up this game from the turn-based combat, to the flag-based/dark-souls-esque "bonfire" system. But at the same time it is lifted so much higher by the interactive combat, the moveset combinations, loadouts, and enemies you encounter.
The world building and characters are great and well thought out.
The story is deep and keeps you invested, and the musical score is fantastic!

Overall an amazing game that has opened my eyes to a genre that I never really was captivated by.
I truly think this game is on the block to be a major contender for Game of the Year!

Great indirect sequel to Toilet Chronicles!
Had a lot of fun with this. Decent progression, good humour, and some silly references.
If you enjoyed Toilet Chronicles, this is worth a pick up!

EDIT:
My initial review/complaint has since been fixed. Will be trying the game again with friends. Assuming all is well - I will not update this review again.

+1 for the devs resolving the issue so quickly.

A fun rage game with friends.

I cannot recommend, however, because it has a rampant hacking/exploit issue where users can join private lobbies - i'm assuming via the steam recent players list - regardless of your lobby settings.
Tried streaming it with some friends and had some loser joining our game and trolling/trying to yell slurs while we were live.
I will gladly change my review when/if this gets fixed. It is a huge detriment to the game and the streamers that promote it.

If you were a fan of the first Creepy Shift, this game is definitely a fantastic sequel.
Indie horror job simulator with enough of a story to keep you engaged throughout.
PLUS - a good amount of humour.

I will say as I do with all indie horror games that I play - the use of generative AI is a disappointment.
I understand the costs of production that artwork and voice actors can bring. However, there are countless aspiring voice actors out there that would be willing to lend their voices to games like this. Myself included. There is also plenty of cheap/free art assets available to use as well.

So while I appreciate the early copy of the game, and enjoyed my time playing, I encourage the devs to avoid the use of generative AI in their future titles. There are plenty of uses for AI - this is not one of them.

Fantastic indie horror game!

Great story that keeps you guessing, and doesn't overstay its welcome.
If you want a short (45-60min) experience and got $5 to spend, be sure to check this one out!

Early Access Review
Updating my review as the previous concerns/issues were quickly addressed and resolved by the dev!

Burgie's Cozy Kitchen is EASILY one of the BEST Twitch Integrated/community games currently released!
But it is also worth noting that the game is fully functional as a standalone game and DOES NOT NEED to be streamed to play!

It is still early access so I would love to see more ingredients, appliances, and customer types/skins!
But I cannot wait to see what future updates HeyNau has in store! I will definitely be checking them out!

Simply put - if you are a streamer and NOT playing this... PLAY IT!

Solid little indie horror game!
Simple concept with a good execution. Find items, package orders, and try to avoid the monsters standing between you and your orders.

Also, you can pet the cat.

The game is just "okay".

I was a big fan of Perspektik's last title - [REC] Paroxysm - which this game is the sequel to.
However I cannot recommend this game as it just isn't good in comparison.

Firstly, and this goes out to ANY indie horror devs out there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us options/toggles to disable the filter effects over the camera. This game has one of the WORST camera effects/filters I have ever seen in my years and thousands of hours playing horror games. Especially indie ones. It hurts your eyes, is either way too obstructive, or at time makes the game way too contrasted or bright at times. Simply put, it's just not easy/pleasant to look at.

Secondly, compared to the dev's previous titles, this game is just boring. It has a couple decent scares but the rest of the time its just seemingly senseless wandering in the dark.
Now I play a lot of walking simulators, however this one just seemed uninspired as it tries to tell you a basic thriller story through notes found in the game world and no real atmosphere.

I hope the game gets updated, and the filters are put on a toggle for future players.
But in its current state I cannot recommend the game for the price.
Go and check out "[REC] Paroxysm" from this dev for a much better experience.
