Gameplay wise units vs units just seems like a massive downgrade, fighting another opponent is just sending blob vs blob and cav charges just feel like they have no impact at all. The diplomacy and non-combat gameplay feels a lot better, but the actual fights seem like a massive downgrade and I don't feel like the purchase price was really worth it.

Coming into this with low expectations when I saw a sale for it, it's not quickly risen to become one of the best games I've ever played of all time, could not suggest it more and can't wait to play the other entries in the series.

Just spent five sleep depreived hours playing this for the first time and now I want to sleep even less
