XCom: Chimera Squad is, in few words; enjoyable. At the time of this review, I have finished my first run of the game, and do not plan on refunding. The devs said it was meant to pull in new players; and I do believe it will be able to.

-Breach Mode; Great introduction for this mechanic, if it is carried over to XCom 3, I would like to see a way to build it into the bigger maps, God knows how many times in XCom 2 that I stacked up on a door to be able to effectively breach an Advent Blacksite in 2,

-Storytelling; Well done at the start, then it kind of died back into the monotony of "Do side missions while waiting for the main one to be opened"

-Agents; You can only recruit up to four agents in a single playthrough, for a total of eight. And the agents that you get? Randomized in groups of three. But, that's where modders come in, pretty soon, if not already, I'm sure there's going to be a mod where you can recruit all 11 agents in the game.

Now, onto the actual Gameplay itself; "Does it feel like an XCOM game?" To me? It does, I have a love-hate relationship with the Timeline personally, and would prefer it to stick to the team moving together, instead of separately. The Timeline reminds me of D&D's initiative, but, you're never going to get the entire team to have their turn before the hostiles' turn. The Shot RNG: "90% chance to hit? Yeah, that misses. while your sqauddie over there gets only 50% and hits." It's XCOM Alright, with just a slightly different flavor, no doubt about that.
