Absolutely fantastic game for a group games night.
Spawn as a giant water tower, bigger than everything in the map; survive the round
Spawn as a hunter, fail to see the car in the wall.

Rounds are chaotic and hilarious.
The game is free.

Would recommend for a group of friends.

Not recommending it until they fix the multiplayer.
Considering they broke it a year ago, pretty low chance of that happening.

It's probably fine for single player or small multiplayer games.
As soon as you get to about 5 or more, it's just awful.

- Loading screens take forever. Especially the one for the main menu. What is it loading that the main menu needs?
- The "Switch" buttons on the lobby screen seems to have unpredictable effects and cause desynchronisation (on your screen, you've readied up but not for anyone else).
- Spamming the chat in the lobby has crashed someone.
- The game will randomly decide to reload and throw everyone into the loading screen. This will always cause at least one player to be desynchronised and may crash someone else. Unless you're lucky.
- If you disconnect for whatever reason, when you rejoin almost all of the time you will become desynchronised from everyone else and they won't be able to continue the game until you leave.
- Alt-tabbing. Don't do it. It's risky.
- Sometimes when you reconnect to a game you left, it will give you someone else's civilisation and you won't be able to pick yours (either there's not the option, or it just doesn't work).

Since they broke it, I've only ever been able to play one game without something going wrong and us not being able to continue due to bugs.
We recently tried playing multiplayer with around 6 people. We tried two hosts. With the first one, we got 5 turns in, with the other, 13 turns in, before the game kicked and desynced people.

If you've played the first Dead Island, you've played this one.

If you absolutely must play Dead Island, get this one not the first game. Story doesn't matter since it's the same in both of them. The first cut-scene explains the first game.

I'd say it's better because it has a prettier environment, some interesting main story missions and boats.
But other than that, it's the same. Side missions are rubbish.

A serious disappointment, especially if you go off the trailer.
The game feels sluggish from the player animations.
They seem to throw in levels everywhere but at a certain point you just stop caring. The character levels mean nothing.
Weapons have too many stats, you end up just throwing away the ones with the lowest level to use.

If you play with friends, you'll spend some of the time laughing at the terribleness of the game, but a lot of the time trying to get through the game as quickly as possible.

The sequel is identical.

Great for Garry's mod! Plus with all the different gamemodes, it's not just one game.
