Early Access Review
Very nice base for a map program. There's a huge lack of sci-fi map makers. I think it needs more options, more tools, more customization, and some polish. Still usable even right now.

Neat toy. Not really useable for anything, but it's fun for a while.

Very good game for all types of city building fans. I have yet to dive in, but I've followed development for years now.

Anti-AI drivel. Basically, developer played No One Has to Die and decided to make a worse story about something they didn't understand and do it with even less gameplay and even worse graphics with an even worse way of clicking through the worse dialogue. Also did it with an even more pointless ending.

Part 2 of a planned 3 part series that will never be finished. Developers ran out of money and weren't interested in making games with understandable or interesting stories.

Forgettable post-apocalyptic setting. Voice lines don't match subtitles even when both are in English. Classic "Nobody bothered to sweep the floor" post-apoc slop. Female character that looks like they ripped off the Last of Us.

It's emotional and story rich in the same way that dropping your mashed potatoes on the floor is an immeasurable tragedy.

Part 1 of a planned 3 part series. Buyer beware there are only two parts. Developers canceled the third game because they ran out of money. A comic book to wrap up the story was floated in 2023 but ultimately no further word has come of it.

This game itself is mostly pointless. It's that genre of game where you make a flash "Oooh, ahhh" Youtube-bait "experience" and then don't actually do anything. Barely a plot, barely any gameplay, the graphics are inconsistent. There's nothing here that makes it worth recommending, and even if you like its ideas, they'll never be expanded upon.

Unfortunately, it's even more woke than the former game (Chapter One). I backed this game during its crowdfunding campaign and I'm disappointed they decided to change the characters to be extremely ahistorical and reflect modern values in a setting that is supposed to be the 19th century. They even give a disclaimer that the game will have historical values, but then you get into the game and you're immediately presented with "diversity" of character appearance and no commentary on it.

The UI is inferior to the previous game because it's all sickly green. I get that it's a Cthulhu game but does Cthulhu mean colors are illegal? No DLAA, forced TAA if not using DLSS. Forced chromatic aberration. Sherlock randomly grows a beard every time he visits whacko land. Side quests are basically pointless and are extremely hard to track because the maps are confusing. The previous game handled side quests fine, why did they do it worse in this game? Half the mysteries don't even get resolutions. The mind palace mechanic is worse. The crime scene reconstructions are worse. This is just sloppy.

Nevermind the fact the original 2007/2008 Awakened was brilliant because it was ambiguous if the Lovecraft stuff was real or just coincidence, but this game destroys that ambiguity by making all of it 100% real. It cheapens Chapter One's entire vibe.

Disappointed.

Dark mode added. Can now play on an OLED without fear of immediate damage. Still wish the UI was more modern, but that helps a lot.

Sad to say there's too much ridiculous woke garbage in an otherwise fine Sherlock Holmes game. If you like to have ahistorical rubbish and constant lectures on how terrible of a person you are, buy this. Otherwise, play something made before the Devil's Daughter.
