The potential for manipulation of game systems and using every little tool you are given is done better in this game than any other I've ever played. The first hundred hours of game play are a blood sacrifice to cut your teeth and learn to both play competently, and understand how to twist the game to your will. I wouldn't say that's a bad thing as the learning curve is massively rewarding

I've flip flopped my review from negative to positive multiple times, here's where I'll put it to rest.

Bottom Line: This game is one of a kind. Despite how bad Rare is at keeping cheaters out, writing code that doesn't break, or understanding what their player base actually wants, one thing remains true; Sea of Thieves is, and for the foreseeable future will be, the single best PvPvE game.

This game is absolutely brutal and has some the hardest and most nuanced game mechanics I've played. But let me tell you once you start winning it is borderline addictive. The skill curve of going from a frightened, lost and confused newbie tucking tail at the first sign of trouble and slowly seeing yourself become a more fearsome and creative threat to everyone else, who can not only hold your own but take treasure from other people and make it your own, is beyond words. Improving at PvE, PvP, cannoning, sailing, navigating, learning the map, learning the quests, and improving at every little step of each process is so rewarding it makes you want to keep playing forever. When you sprinkle funny and sweaty interactions with other crews , the game never ends.

The grinds are long, losing is par for the course, being a new player in this game is so unforgiving I'm almost afraid to recommend it.... But if you grit your teeth, take your lumps, and sharpen your skills at entirely foreign game mechanics, I promise you will find Sea of Thieves to be one of the best games you'll ever play.

10/10, despite Rare's best efforts

A fitting return to greatness, brilliant gunplay and excellent feeling movement. Endgame needs some work but as there is still DLC left to release and likely level cap increases on the way i'll hold off on that judgement for now.

Has it's moments, but sadly all that i see now is back to back gank squad style battles and absurd damage numbers that completely betray any sense of fairness. The level of difficult here is how i feel outsiders see the souls series, unfair, unfun, unbalanced slog. Easy on the eyes though...

Vast as an ocean, deep as a puddle. The combat feels like driving a dune buggy in sand box, cool, but you really can't flex your muscles before its over.

Broken achievements. stay clear, fun game though if it ever gets fixed

Excellent dungeon-run style of game, one of the best.

An excellent addition to the Trine series, visually stunning, gameplay feels more polished than ever before. A tad short for the $30 asking price, however if purchased on sale or in the bundle it is well worth 15-20 dollars. A satisfying Achievement Hunting game also, the game gives many systems to help find any missed collectibles with ease. Overall a tad expensive, but if this is your cup of tea I could justify paying $30.
