If you're a fan of the classics of the genre (BG, Icewind Dale, Fallout 2, etc) it ranks right up there with them for world building. It was also updated with new content during my playthrough, in 2025.

This is the first of the pixel remasters that I've played but man oh man has Square had a redemption arc in the saga of their remakes. This version of FFV is the definitive one.

Kinda like a pared down Star Rangers - Living galaxy, make money how you want, nice space battles.

Would salvage again.

Always good for some big laughs with anyone playing it.

There's some real weird design choices here, like how your enemy is just a bar that you lower by percentages, or how joining the game happens differently than pretty much every other game.

Honestly, I just wanted overcooked in space, and this ain't it.

This and factorio have kept me up quite a few nights, and left me planning things during my lunch breaks.

They're both very similar, but different. You get raw materials and use them to make increasingly complex and efficient production centers.

Factorio has tension though, and this one has exploration. Those are both very valid gameplay elements. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd wait until they're both on sale.
