One of the greatest games ever made. I know this for a fact because I first played it when I was 8.

Hard to recommend unless you've played other early 2000s Sonic games like R / SA2 / Heroes.

The camera is a harder beast to tame than most bosses. You're often at a loss for where to go next in the overworld and have to rely on the wisp to tell you, instead of incorporating that information into cut-scenes or the story itself. Boss combat was a bit too simple, to the point of it being annoying, just waiting till they're vulnerable. The pinball levels were enjoyable but could've had so much more to them. Platforming is probably it's strongest suit, with springs, boosts and loops all really well done. I'm glad this is what set the standard for future 3D sonic games. Would NOT go back and replay levels for higher scores, the thought is almost painful.
Music? Sonic Team with the absolute bangers (except you, Mystic Ruins). I'm guessing this is where it all started, since Sonic R had a completely different tone to it's OSTs.

This was one of my favorite games as a kid, and I'm so grateful that I'm able to play it again even after my gamecube is long gone. Highly recommend playing with a controller, as it is very well supported in this game and the keyboard controls are very clunky.
