I had to turn off next gen content to stop it crashing beyond the third level. The combat has not aged well at all. The camera can sometimes be an absolute pain, particularly on the bosses, and the motorcycle sections weren't that great even at the time.

However, I would still rather play this than many modern games. It has heart, it has no micro-transactions and it has an actual campaign with a story that had some thought and levels that were given time to design. These aren't identikit 'shoot the bad guys for xp to grind your numbers' levels that slowly destroy your soul - the good of it being an old game massively outweighs the bad.

I genuinely miss the time when these kinds of AA games were coming out every week and there was always something entertaining to play that didn't demand a direct connection to your credit card with the promise of a 'content plan' that evaporates in a month. When you actually owned the games, can you imagine? It makes me happy that we can still play these games of course, especially as this is much older than The Crew which is at the vanguard of destroying video game history. AA games built in genuine good faith are on indie developer life support at this point and being able to play these old games is incredibly important.

Pick it up on sale and raise a glass to the best era of gaming.

Solid game although controls are garbage it was fun and quite challenging.
