Gameplay was unpleasant from my perspective, in regards to the camera movement and controls

I went into the game thinking it will have more pirate-y vibes and boat scenes (it's been a while since I bought the game and totally forgot about its description, lol).
Alas, it was not that, but regardless I still quite enjoyed the game! I loved the aesthetics of the island people and creatures. I do wish there was some translation for their native language parts, though, since I'm nosy and would love to know what they were saying at all times, haha.
The missions were also quite entertaining, though I have to say the game itself was rather... short. Even with doing pretty much all of the side quests (not counting missions), it felt short to me. 40 hours on record, from that around 10 were spent just replaying some parts, tweaking around the settings and running around to get to a point form which I can travel and the rest is actual gameplay.

As a romance-RPG hunter, lol, I originally got the game because I read it has romance, which, to be fair, it did, but on the most minimal scale possible, imo. So I do wish there were just more scenes with our love interest but also just overall chatter with them and companions. We're made to run around the whole island and there is minimal talk during it, getting to actually know the characters on deeper level is nonexistent (to me, at least).
You get 3 companion quests for each LI and if you want to romance them, you HAVE to pick the correct (romance) option during/after them otherwise you will end up a single pringle, which happened to me when I didn't choose correctly one of Vasco's dialogues and was SO pissed, lol. I did not want to replay the whole game because of him, so I went for Kurt instead. That's for my romance rant, won't go further, lol.

The game's saving is quite horrible, imo. 1) Does not save that often. 2) Deletes previous auto-saves. So unless you manually save on every step to make sure you have anchor points to return to in case you mess up, well, you are in for a whole bunch of replaying! I lost 5 hours like this, because of my previous point, where I kept waiting for Vasco's romance to trigger just to later find out it won't and in the meantime I rejected Kurt and had to replay (thankfully I had a manual save from day before). There are multiple instances in the game where the ability to roll back a save would be very useful if you mess up, to fix your mistakes, alas, unless you save yourself all the time, you are out of luck here.

On a more positive note, though. I really loved the combat style - even though I played on Discovery settings, as I am more interested in exploring than fighting all the time.

I read the combat style is completely scrapped and turned into a Dragon Age/Baldur's Gate type of a combat, which, personally, makes me rather sad as I really do not like this type of combat and I liked Greedfall's to begin with. I'd like to say I'm hoping for the full release of the game they will take all the feedback from players and change the combat style, but I honestly doubt it. It would really make my day though, if it was so.
I also read the romance should be more prominent? So here is hoping the dry days of Greedfall will be gone with Greedfall II? Though apparently no male love interests as of yet? Which I do hope they add, otherwise I don't think I will be getting the game anytime soon, since, as I said, I'm more on a look-out for romance RPGs currently (with male LIs) and even though I liked Greedfall as a game, too, without the extra romance and with the changed combat, it really would not be a priority game for me to get.

If you like third person RPGs with a somewhat unique world and an okayish story with plenty of choice and consequence as well as somewhat serviceable combat try GreedFall it is a 6/10 game.
