Forgiving souls- like with fun exploration, short story and good art. Only con stamina should be leveling with the player and makes feel good exploration.

The game is decently charming. I like the fishing. I like the theming and graphics. I like the snippets for lore. But this game for me it's just...uninteresting. The combat is clunky (and SLOW), and the exploration is very limited (and also SLOW). The extent of exploration is finding a chest that has another weapon or chest that you won't use. There's not really any clever puzzles, or interesting scenarios to stumble upon.

The stamina is certainly annoying. Whilst stamina is an interesting and important mechanic in these games, you run so slow, and it takes so long to regenerate that it's just cumbersome. And in combat it's easy to feel like stamina is the main factor holding you back. Combine this with how weight affects your stamina, it's easy to feel like you're being punished for using any of the heavier gear you find, because it's going to slow you down by even more. I ended up using the absolute lightest armour, because it's just faster to move around and fight.

There's extremely little to shake anything up. For example, rings have very little effect. "You have a chance to not consume ammo", and it's like a 33% chance. And with only a few supporting pieces, it's difficult to make anything resembling a 'build'. Whilst all the weapons you find look cool, they operate pretty much identically to stuff you have at the start of the game.

TLDR; You fight pretty much the same enemies at the start vs end of the game, with weapons you get at the start of the game, in a clunky and annoying combat system.

Honestly the lore is the most interesting bit. I think it's a very neat concept. Buut there's only about 8 or 9 'lore events'.

FlyKnight is an FPS dungeon crawler that has old school graphics, with many monsters and equipment to loot. It was a real treat to explore the world especially when I did not know what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. The world design was great as well, I liked how the story progressed and how everything was set up. My only thoughts were that the bosses were too easy in co-op. For a solo developer, he definitely exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommended!
