Me and my partner played this for about 8 hours now
It's honestly pretty fun at least for the tavern side of things
Everything else though, I can't fathom how frustrating it became and it massively put me off the game.

I still gave it a chance in hopes maybe it would get better in the mid to late game
It really didn't though and I'm highly disappointed..

Like I said the tavern side of things, cooking food and making drinks, managing your kitchen, serving customer's and upkeeping the tavern is really really fun
You can eventually get these cute owls to help you out with the cleaning and waitering side of things
We didn't explore too much into the Inn side of things but in paper it seems pretty good

But everything outside of that feels like an absolute drag, and you aren't really rewarded for progression in my opinion

Let's start with the combat side of things
You start with an basic axe, it gets the work done but takes time, obviously being a starter weapon it should take a bit to kill something

Then you get a sword what you should think be alot better?
Marginally at best..
Still somewhat takes a bit to kill enemies but it's marginally better.
However at what level you need to achieve to unlock this, it doesn't feel rewarding at all.
You spent all that time with your axe and finally got a new weapon
But it still feels like you are swinging around a plastic toy that will break quite easily
This can be offset with grindstones but I didn't know these existed until looking on the internet to find out about their existence..

Seriously why is this slightly hidden, in fact why do weapons need to break in this game..
If you're going to add durability do it properly and make it less punishing, I'm not playing a survival game!

Finally you get your hands on that musket You've been eyeing in the shop..
Wait is this a nerf gun..? Because that's exactly what it feels like
Barley a damage increase from the sword
Ammo costing 200 per for only 20 yet taking half of that almost to kill an orc..
Or 4 of it to kill a wolf..
There's probably harder enemies that we haven't encountered yet I can only imagine how tanky and how hard hitting they will be..

Oh that's another thing
This game isn't Dark Souls! Why do the enemies do so much damage.. why can I barely hurt said enemies with a fricking gun..

If you're going to keep it that way give us a way to permanently increase our health or maybe add some accessories like rings amulets anything really that gives us more damage, flat damage reduction and more health

Instead of having to rely on 60 sec duration health increase potions among other ones..


Progression doesn't have to be just combat related, I mean for one why fish traps have durability..? For how much they cost it doesn't seem worth it at all.
You want to skip the tedious task of fishing then fork out an arm and a leg..
And it won't even last you that long..

And why can't we have an upgrade to have an apple tree right outside our tavern? Or even a basement upgrade to grow mushrooms..

And one last thing
Increase the stack size for all stackable items, if not for your inventory do it especially for items in chests
It's way too little at the moment

There is no rewarding progression in this game and it's a real drag from start to finish..
They only fun thing to do is run your tavern
But you can't do that without having to do all the other stuff since you are forced into it

At this time I can't recommend the game
I would wait to see if the Devs give it more time in the oven
It has really great potential but right now there's a lot of things that need to be addressed or reworked to offer a rewarding experience to progress through the game.

Partner and I bought the game and immediately played for 7h without a break. Highly adictive.

Love this game. So cozy. Love the quests and the fact that you can close the tavern if you get overwhelmed.
