honestly such a good game. personally i find myself to be a huge fan of turn based games, especially when they have great animation like this. the only things i wish they could change is - 1. free roam- i wish they let you roam around the map once you beat the game. it sucks that they force you to stay inside the palace, which confuses me since you get a level up for beating the game - but what for? if you cant even battle anymore? that is pretty much the only complaint i have about this. i really hope this game gets an update, new game, or a DLC.

its good

Small saga is fantastic - it is a phenomenal fusion of turn based RPG and the saturday morning cartoons of the 90s and aughts featuring lovable rodentia and redwall that forms a wonderful pastiche. It wields both irreverant charm and deeply vulnerable discussion of trauma, grief and revenge through its narrative and characters.
It is by no means breaking the mold as an RPG, veterans of the genre will likely hardly have any significant difficulty as the games combat is simple enough that seasoned players will quickly develop an optimal sequence of actions, rendering most combats into fairly simple puzzles. For me, I found most combats satisfying - except for a single end-game optional fight that was a little too rote at the end of the game when I was at full strength, but impossible when it is first available.
It's up to you to decide whether or not ~8 hours of gameplay is enough for you at its price. I bought it on sale, and am very happy with the purchase!
