About this guide
While you can hide nearly everything from your activity feed, there is no setting to hide artwork published by your friends. This can be very annoying sometimes!

This simple feature was requested by steam users years ago already, but it haven't been added to steam yet.

With this guide I'm showing you how to hide the artwork posts of your friends from your activity feed.
The problem
Artworks posted by users are not always of interest. Some users tend to post dozens of artworks in a row. I've seen a lot of anime and truck artworks... I can't blame my friends for the incapability of Steam to integrate such an easy feature to hide artworks from the activity feed.

Example of profile artwork posts:
The solution for Chrome users
There is an easy to use extension available for Google Chrome and some other browsers using the Blink engine (for example: Opera[www.opera.com] together with this extension[addons.opera.com], and Vivaldi[vivaldi.com] out of the box)

It's called Stylebot[chrome.google.com] and can be downloaded in the Chrome Web Store[chrome.google.com].
Preview:

Install this extension and proceed.
Setting up Stylebot extension to hide artwork posts
Open your activity feed and right click anywhere on the page to get the context menu. Select Stylebot > Style Element

A new window should show up:

Select the Edit CSS button at the bottom.

Insert the following code into the editor window.

div.blotter_workshopitempublished { display: none; }

Save your changes and close the Stylebot window. The changes should have been applied now to your activity feed.
Conclusion
As you can see the steps to hide artwork posts are pretty simple.

The main downside of this solution is that you'll miss some artwork postings from your friends. And it will sadly hide Steam Greenlight announcements and Guides too!

All what remains are status posts from users and group announcements if you've disabled all the other stuff already.

Hope this little guide is useful for you!

P.S. you can use the Stylebot extension for so much more. It's quite intuitive if you have some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Just play around with it a bit :)

You can also temporarily block friends who upload artwork every day without removing them, and when this phase is over, unblock them again.

more than you think i assume!
for example, me :) I'm only using the client to browse my games ;)
browsing steam with the client got some serious drawbacks in my opinion, like missing browser extension (Enhanced Steam, SIH etc...) display size is not changeable (missing zoom), no bookmarks, and external links are handled by the browser anyway. just to name some important things!

But who browses steam with their browser normally?

I didn't even know that there's a function to hide artworks missing, thanks for the heads-up and the solution. :104:

this is something that could only do an extension or script, ill seeking some people capable of this already. the activity feed really needs some polishing. atm i have all disabled and only comments and group announcements in my feed. this is fine, but i always feel about missing something. so other tabs with screenshots, artworks, reviews would be nice to have!

Nicely.

I hate people who upload crappy hentai/porn pics as artworks and favourite them. It really clutters my activity tab.

If there was only the way to hide/filter specific Steam games, because for example I have no interest in seeing gta5 screenshots or favourited cs go skins.
