Description
A brand new, vanilla reminiscent expansion!
Play as Job, starting with high fire rate and the new Book of Despair item, and uncover over 25 new unlockables, including items, trinkets, a tainted and more!

Features:
- A brand new character reminiscent of Vanilla game design, Job.
- An unlockable Tainted version for the character.
- 15+ unlockable items.
- 5 new trinkets.
- 2 new pocket items.
- 2 new unlockable challenges.
- Over double the amount of unlocks and content after 100%ing the mod!

Job as a Character:
Job is characterized by having a really high Fire Fate, in exchange for damage.

Book of Despair:
This item will buff the player's Fire Rate by 33%.
Similar to the Book of Belial, this book also has a hidden synergy to boost its effects even further.
While the DPS granted by the book is not as high as its damage counterpart, it makes up for it by heavily increasing the amount of tears you fire, making tear effects more likely to appear.

Statistics:
Items: Book of Despair.
Health: 2 Hearts, 1 Soul Heart.
Speed: 1.0.
Tears: 4.29 (x1.4).
Damage: 2.63 (x0.75).
Range: 6.5.
Shotspeed: 1.0.
Luck: -1.

Tainted Job as a Character:
Sike, you thought!
Go play the mod and unlock him, it's the same way the rest of Tainteds are unlocked.

Future Updates
A 3.0 update for this mod is currently in the works. I can't work too often on it because I need to make a living, however if you would like to speed up the update, feel free to support me on https://ko-fi.com/agentcucco

Mod Interactions:
- Full Encyclopedia compatibility.
- External Item Descriptions compatibility.

Notes:
- While not mandatory, Encyclopedia is INCREDIBLY adviced when playing this mod, as it's currently the best way you can track your progress, thanks to its built in Character support.
- This mod makes use of the Stackable Damocles mod for a bunch of different effects, bear in mind this mod slightly tweaks the way the Damocles item works.
---- This mod is embedded into Job Modpack, there is no need to install or enable the original mod when playing.
- "Will you make Tarnished Job?" NO! The mod already has 4 characters, stop asking for more!

That's a fascinating bug, I'll look into it.

This is another technically kinda bug but not really. In tainted treasure rooms you can switch out one item for a tainted variant of that item. With T Job using Deus Custodia you can use it on the tainted treasure room item and have both the original + the tainted variant.

Ah, thanks for explanation. Awesome mod by the way!

@matizbelchatowa Sorry for the late response, I had to test some things.

Tainted Job loses 40% of the (number of) items grabbed in the last floor. So if you have 20 items and grab 10 in the current floor, when changing rooms you will only lose 4 items instead of 12. However the lost items can be any item in your inventory that hasn't been safeguarded, not just from the pool of items you grabbed last floor.

This allows for more strategy when playing, since you can choose to stop getting items if you have a good enough run that could be ruined by losing the wrong item at the wrong time. Since losing 40% of 0 items is still 0 items.

Is T. Job supposed to take only 2-3 items even when I have around 24 of them? It says he loses 40% of them but I never lost more than 3 at once

You you enter the genesis room as tainted job. Each of the 3 items spawns an extra item. However, unlike the main 3 items, picking up these extra items will not make the others disappear similarly to the main items spawned

You could argue it is a bug, it is very easily fixed if they check for Damocles API and add their item to the blacklist.

That being said I will likely revisit the API at one point since ideally it shouldn't cause conflicts these severe with other mods.

This isn't really a bug but a very funny interaction between this and another mod.

Another mod I use is fok's booster pack. In the mod there's an item called Baal's altar which is an active item. When you use it and collide with an item you pick it up and can place it somewhere else. Kinda like moving box but you can only hold one item and you can also take shop items for free.

Thing is though is that if you're playing as tainted Job and you pick this item up. Everytime you use it and place down an item, you also place down another item. In addition this active item has no cooldown, so you can basically just make infinite items.

This isn't really a bug or even an incompatibility as both mods are doing what they're supposed to but this interaction is really funny.

I plan on keeping the b-sides and tainted items, they'll just work a lot different in 3.0 in terms of how you unlock them.
