No longer working, tried opening image in new tab, copying image link, nothing works, unless it has to be done throu a browser and not the app. Imgur image shows as a broken icon. Sad. :sadstar2022:

This simply doesn't work for me, and I for the life of me cannot figure out what the hell "STEAM_APP_IMAGE" is even referring to despite seeing it referenced so many times.

hey all this helped me so kudos and thank you to the creator. The [img] tags also work if you're a dev and posting in the store page admin

I wanted to make a Special announcement and link to a GIF and make it clickable to take people to my Discord, so it all worked with this markup format! yay!

It does still work , you just need the correct link. You can't insert the regular link from the web bar. Check out #2 in this guide. It states:

"2. Copy your image's DIRECT LINK once you've uploaded it to an image hosting site."

From a Reddit post asking about the difference: "A link will take you to the Imgur page with the comment section and ratings. the direct link will show only the image."

So if you're pasting the link found in the web bar, no, it won't display correctly because that link is pointing to the website. You can't "embed" a website page into Steam descriptions. Get the direct link, paste that between [ img]****[/img] and you're all set.

Here is what the web link looks like: https://imgur.com/gallery/c1MnO
Here is what the DIRECT LINK looks like: https://i.imgur.com/mtbl1cr.jpeg

To get the direct link, right click the image and select "Copy Image Link". That's what is says in Firefox. It might be different in IE, Edge, Chrome, etc.
