Floor Progression Achievements
The first several achievements are simply unlocked as you progress through the game. You don't need to do anything special to unlock the dungeon floor achievements other than stay alive.

"Dungeon Diver (E)"
Clear Floor 10.
Once you pass floor ten, you'll be awarded this achievement.

"Dungeon Diver (D)"
Clear Floor 20.
Once you pass floor twenty, you'll be awarded this achievement.

"Dungeon Diver (C)"
Clear Floor 30.
Once you pass floor thirty, you'll be awarded this achievement.

"Dungeon Diver (B)"
Clear Floor 40.
Once you pass floor forty, you'll be awarded this achievement.

"Dungeon Diver (A)"
Reach Floor 50.
Once you pass floor fifty, you'll be awarded this achievement.
General Achievements
"Fish on!"
Catch a rare breed of fish.
Either start with the fishing pole or find it randomly in game to start this achievement. You'll need to locate a pond and fish, hoping to get a rare fish.

Fishing uses stamina, so don't deplete it fishing for this item.

A few helpful tips to earning this would be to fish on raining floors (higher chance to catch a fish) or to have a campfire set next to you so you can refill your stamina.

Remember, you can rest at a campfire an unlimited amount of times.

"Hidden Heroes"
Equip at least 3 of the special hero gear and visit their hidden camp.
In order to enter the camp, you'll need to equip at least 3/4 pieces of hero gear. The gear will be displayed in orange text. Any class can equip three pieces, but the warrior can equip all four at once, making that class have a slight advantage when trying for this achievement. Once you have at least three pieces of hero gear, head down the ladder to the next level to enter a special floor filled with all kinds of excellent loot.

"SPELLROLLED to the bottom!"
Win the game as a Wizard.
Beat the game as the wizard class either by defeating the Lich or completing all 50 levels.

"To HEAL and back!"
Win the game as a cleric.
Beat the game as the cleric class either by defeating the Lich or completing all 50 levels.

"TANKS a lot!"
Win the game as a Warrior.
Beat the game as the warrior class either by defeating the Lich or completing all 50 levels.

"THIEFS for the memories!"
Win the game as a Thief.
Beat the game as the thief class either by defeating the Lich or completing all 50 levels.

"Cult of Personality!"
Win the game as a Cultist.
Beat the game as the cultist class either by defeating the Lich or completing all 50 levels. In order to unlock this class, you'll need to locate (thus unlocking) 50% of the items in the game. You can check your progress from the start menu.
General Achievements
"Ready for ripoff!"
Visit your first shop.
You'll find these quickly. Equipment shops have a blue sign with a sword on them.

"INN from the rain.."
Visit your first guild.
You'll find these quickly. Guilds (AKA Inns) have red signs with a gold key on them.

"Dark Schmouls"
Rest at a Bonf- ah.. CAMPFIRE!
You can unlock this either by resting at a bonf-ah campfire you find randomly on any dungeon floor, or the default one as starting equipment for the warrior. Easy enough, right?

"Burn, Baby, Burn!"
Allow equipped wooden gear to burn away by fire.
You'll probably earn this achievement without trying, as wooden items are commonplace and several enemies carry fire-based spells.

You need to equip a wooden item (weapon or armor) and have an enemy cast a fire spell on you, destroying said wood items. You can get this in the early game from jailbreak enemies like the red slimes.

You can also earn this achievement by equipping wooden items and then stepping on any fire tiles as well. The warrior can start with a wooden shield, so just hold onto it from the beginning and equip it right before you find fire or a fire-casting enemy.

In the end, you'll probably earn this by accident followed by your untimely death.

"Not MUSHROOM for salmonella.."
Eat some poisoned mushrooms. Sorry!
You'll find mushrooms throughout your journey and more so on floors that are actively raining.

Sometimes if you eat them you'll gain a small bit of HP back (+3HP); eat the wrong ones and you'll be temporarily poisoned, earning this achievement.

For those wondering, there is no visible difference between regular and poisonous mushrooms; just play Russian roulette with a few and you'll unlock it fairly quickly and with minimal damage towards your character.

"I Stole Your Milkshake!"
Steal an item from an enemy.
You'll need to be playing the thief and use the thief's stealing ability in order to unlock this achievement. No other class has the ability to steal from enemies.

While you can't steal an actual milkshake (shame), you can steal plenty of other items and only one theft is needed.

So break out your inner kleptomaniac and get to thievin'!

"Big Bucks, No Whammy!"
Amass $5000 in cash.
Straight forward sounding, but difficult in practice. You'll need to survive for quite a while to amass enough gold to unlock this achievement. Selling unwanted items and thoroughly searching all rooms (when possible) will be the key to gaining enough coin in your purse. Look out of pickaxes as well, as those have the ability to mine gold ore veins.

"Camp Champ!"
Eliminate a champ class monster
These are up-tiered, stronger versions of regular enemies you find throughout the game. They have a blue aurora around them that helps distinguish them from regular monsters.
Originally posted by Del_Duio/Developer:

Champion enemies are rare versions of the normal monsters you'll see while playing. You can easily spot a champ by its gowing blue outline. In all cases, a champ is stronger than its regular counterpart (sometimes MUCH stronger!) If you think you can kill one they are normally worth the risk and drop treasure chests when defeated. Occasionally they can even drop golden chests filled with better loot!

"Vegetable Vengance"
Go back and defeat a Killer Plant: Terror of your early games!
Kill a "Killer Plant" monster to unlock this achievement. They can be very difficult early game due to their high STR/HP. They can attack with a poisonous bite, making them all the more lethal. It's recommended avoiding these in the early game and killing them when you've leveled up a bit and gathered up better gear.

General Achievements
"Point Spread for the Dead"
Earn 10,000 points upon death
At the end of each run, you'll be given a score. You'll need to survive long enough to earn over 10,000 points; not terribly hard to do so just practice and learn the game and you'll get this in time.

"The Rarest Stuff"
Disarm and open a shadow chest
If you're lucky enough to come across a shadow chest, opening it will unlock this achievement. You can find these randomly while you explore, or when defeating high-end enemies/bosses.

"Cursed Cannibal!?"
Equip 4 pieces of cursed gear and eat bones off the dungeon floor
If you're unfortunate (or fortunate?) enough to locate four pieces of cursed gear in one playthrough, equip all four and find a pile of bones on the floor. Hitting your action key will consume them and unlock this achievement.

Be patient, as this achievement can be very difficult to achieve, as it boils down to a lot of luck on both being able to survive long enough to find cursed items and being able to locate four different cursed items to wear at once. Remember to carry a cross with you if possible because that's the only way you'll be able to remove the cursed gear; you only need one cross to remove all cursed pieces.

To identify cursed pieces, you'll typically see them as being black/white in the inventory screen, sometimes they'll have some great bonuses with a negative trait, or even say "cursed" in the description to tip you off. Some examples of this are things like the skull flail, human bone armor, cursed shield, skull mask or the (green) insidious dagger.
Boss Achievements
"Troll the Troll"
Kill the Troll boss
We've all had to deal with trolls, but at least now we can take out our anger on them.

The Troll is very likely the first boss you'll encounter while playing. It is ugly, slow, and stupid. Since it doesn't know any magic your warrior won't have to worry too much. It carries a shield it will use to try and bash you with, lowering your defense. It can also let out a mighty roar, boosting its offense in a major way. Any attacks made after that will be devastating to a low-leveled or underequipped adventurer.

It might be hard to level a thief fast enough to steal from it, but he has some great equipment if you can.

"Swift like Wind, Death to Ninja!"
Kill the Ninja boss
The 2nd boss you'll encounter is on level 15.

The Ninja is definitely a big step up from the lowly Troll, and pretty much has to be to keep his army of muggers in check. With lightning reflexes and poison-tipped weapons, it'll be tough to even land a hit. Worse, he might even try to steal something out of your backpack when you're not looking! Prepare yourself for his poison attacks by using foot powder before triggering the fight.

The Hangman's Hammer will deal critical damage to all manner of muggers and thieves, including this guy!

Dev's Note: Rarely, the Ninja will be sporting a black suit instead of his traditional white one. That means he's also carrying a Shadow Garb on him- A very nice piece of thief armor. Try to steal it if you can!

"Back to the Rift"
Kill the Rift Fiend boss.
The 3rd boss you'll encounter is on floor 20.

The Rift Fiend will always appear on floor 20, which will also always be an Inferno Floor event. It goes without saying that if you want to have any shot of beating this thing you're going to want to first use any items that'll give you fire resistance.

It has high defenses and the ability to heal itself when in trouble. Going up against the Rift Fiend with unprotected wooden weapons and armor is basically suicide.

If you're fortunate and have found an ice-imbued weapon like the Frost Siphon, it will always deal critical damage against fire guys like these.

"Hella' Catch!"
Fish the Water Dragon out of a pond and kill it
This optional boss spawns at random from ponds. The Water Dragon can appear on any floor and fishing will always run the risk of encountering it.

This guy can appear totally out of the blue on any floor while you're fishing, usually scaring the bejeesus out of everyone! If you want to try to kill it for fun, first use any items that give you cold resistance and fish away. Be very careful not to let your stamina get too low while fishing, as you don't want to be too tired to fight this thing when it appears!

Putting a campfire set down next to a pond you intend on using to fish the dragon out is a great idea, as you can use it to quickly and easily restore your stamina an unlimited number of times.

Unlike other boss monsters, the Water Dragon won't drop any treasure chests upon being defeated. Also if you do manage to kill it any ponds will be safe from other dragon attacks in the future.

If you've somehow located a Dragonslayer sword first, it will always deal critical damage against the Water Dragon.

Another fiery jerk, the Hell Hound is the toughest dog in the entire universe (and Beverly Hills). Prepare for him as you would the Rift Fiend: Fire resistance effects to protect against its heat magic. It has high dexterity and is good at avoiding your melee attacks. He can also make a mighty loud roar and boost its physical attack power a bunch. Thankfully it cannot heal itself, so just beat on it until dead.

If you're fortunate and have found an ice-imbued weapon like the Frost Siphon, it will always deal critical damage against super-heated enemies like these. Even the lowly Dog Star mace will critically hit this canine du caca.

Boss Achievements
"Ghost of a Chance"
Locate a graveyard and kill a Ghost there
The 6th boss you'll encounter is on a graveyard event level.
"It's me, Kaiba, and this time you don't stand...a ghost of a chance!" "Yugi, you don't stand a ghost of a chance against your next opponent because this time, he is a ghost!"

A rare ghost enemy who can sometimes appear prowling graveyard floor events. Unlike other bosses, it can continue to come back on other graveyard floors even after being "killed". It can rarely cast the powerful ZAP spell, so if you have any lightning resistance items you're going to want to use them first before engaging this guy.

Holy enchanted weapons like the Parish Blade or Battle Cross will hit for critical damage against undead A-Holes like the Ghost.

If you're playing as a Cleric his TURN spell decimates all undead creatures, including this guy.

This is an incredibly tough opponent, and one you should only attempt to face if you have some outstanding gear. It has very high HP and the ability to heal itself, prolonging a nasty fight. Even your wizard may find himself out of stamina due to this. The Dragonslayer or Boss Slayer swords will deal exceptional damage against this scaly so and so, if you've happened to find one.

But sometimes the best course of action is to simply run away!

"Yeah, Fear the Reaper"
Locate a quiet floor and eliminate the Reaper
The 9th boss you'll encounter is on a quiet floor event.

The Reaper is easily one of the hardest things you'll face in the game. With high stats, killer melee attacks and magic that can put you to sleep or instantly kill you you're going to want to load up on ice resistance and smelling salts if possible. If you have a Holy Cross its bless effect will completely protect you from the Reaper's death spell. Poison resistance items aren't a bad idea either. If you can manage to defeat this enemy, you'll be in for a nice suprise: He will always drop an unlocked shadow chest- which holds some of the very best loot in the game.

The Boss Slayer sword will always hit for critical damage vs. the Reaper. I hope you brought one!

If you're playing as a Cleric, don't be fooled: The Reaper is an agent of death but he's NOT an undead enemy and therefore is not affected by your TURN spell. Don't waste it here!

Whether you decide to fight it or not, there can only ever be one quiet floor event per playthrough. So survive if you must, but don't kick yourself later!

Dev's Note:
I totally lucked out and found a Gem of Silence in a shadow chest when I went to fight the Reaper in the screenshot below. By using the Gem, I created an Anti-Magic field and this jerk lost half of his aresenal.

"Ulitimate Endgame Decision: Lich"
It's floor 50. Do you risk it all and try to kill the Lich or find the stairs to end the game?
The ultimate enemy in the game; run for the ladder or dish out dirt naps? Time to decide!

Unless you are absolutely insane or stacked with the mightiest of dungeon armaments, you should never take this supreme undead wizard on in a fight. With the highest stats of any monster out there and the ability to cast any spells he makes the Reaper look like a total wuss. If you DO want to get all the way to the 50th floor and attempt to kill this thing, here's some suggestions I offer:
  • Maximum HP and stamina to begin the battle are a must. If you have any purple potions laying around now's the time to drink one.

  • Total spell resistance if possible. If you luck out and there's a guild on the floor with a visiting guildmaster, he can offer to give you defensive buffs for 300 gold pieces. The buffs will protect you from the Lich's magic.

  • Even with defensive buffs applied, you'll still need a high MDEF. Load up on gear that has bonuses to MDEF like Owl Helmets and Shields.

  • The Lich also hits like a truck in melee. Strong armor or high evasion rated gear is also a must.

  • Equip the highest powered weapon you have if you're going to melee it to death. Some weapons like the Boss Slayer, Parish Blade, or Battle Cross will always deal critical damage to guys like this and are a real help. Weebish weaponry is also super top-notch in fights like this.

  • If you're a Warrior and have decent DEX you might want to try the SLAY skill. It can be incredibly powerful if it connects, even against this guy.

  • If you're a Cleric you want to try and pump as much into your MAG stat as possible, as your TURN spell's damage scales off of it. Anything that can provide a Spell Boost effect (like using a Magic Wand for example) is also a good idea. Even this deadly enemy will fall to several high-powered TURN blasts.

  • If you're fighting it as a wizard you'll want MAG stacked gear and as much stamina as you can. Since you won't survive many hits regardless you're going to want to make every spell count. A Rod of Zap will greatly enhance your ZAP magic.

  • You might want to consider taking a Totem with you into battle. Warriors using two handed weapons can use the HP recovery and Wizards who run low on stamina can refill it with one.

  • Don't let the Lich get the jump on you! Decrease your odds of ambush if the floor is also a Darkness event by using a torch or campfire first.

Nice guide. Thanks. Looks like a cut-and-paste typo with the first few achievements that are related to 'get to level 50' etc. They say they trigger after level 30 for the 40 and 50 ones.

No, thank you for helping to keep the dream alive! *swelling orchestral theme*
