You might be wondering why all of the cars are white when you spawn them but there's a fair reason for that. What will be best to color, a white surface or a red surface? I hope most of you will say the white and that's correct. With the white surface you can make any color you'd like.

Spawn the car you want to color and look at

It should look something like that. To color it, simply use the color tool. Select a color and shoot the car.

It is really that simple!

You can also have different skins which let's you use a picture as a color. To switch between these you can use Easy Bodygroup Tool

Skins do not magically appear on your computer and must be downloaded, either from the server you're playing on or from workshop/garrysmod.org. They usually come with installation instructions so read those!

Please note that not all vehicles are customizable!
For this you need a tool

In this guide I will be demonstrating with my BMW M3 E92


Pull out the tool that you just downloaded (is usually at the bottom) and shoot at the car with it.

You will be able to see a menu like that. This also shows you if the car can be customized at all. If it only shows skin, it can't
Move the sliders around and see what happens to your car.


And that's how simple it is

When we updated to Garry's Mod 13, many lua based addons broke. My cars are using an addon called VCMod that handles the light and a few other things. This is currently only available for 25 dollars on coderhire.com.

If you're not interested in paying, you'll need to wait for VCMod 2 which is still in development. The creator of VCMod can be found here
